Union Minister Ramdas Athawale declared on Sunday that the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will win more Lok Sabha seats than exit polls have forecasted.
Speaking at a press conference, Athawale exuded confidence in the BJP-led NDA surpassing the 400-seat mark in the 543-member Lok Sabha.
Exit polls on Saturday projected Prime Minister Narendra Modi retaining power for a third consecutive term, with anticipated majorities ranging between 350 and 375 seats for the NDA. However, Athawale believes the actual number will be higher. He emphasized the coalition's robust performance in Maharashtra, predicting a win of 35 to 40 seats in the state.
The Minister also underscored the support from diverse groups, including Dalits, Bahujans, and Buddhists, attributing the success to the NDA’s ability to counter Congress's narrative on constitutional changes.
