Tripura Gears Up for Vote Counting Amid Tight Security

Preparations have been completed for vote counting in Tripura West and Tripura East Lok Sabha constituencies and Ramnagar Assembly byelection on June 4. Elections were held in April, recording over 80% voter turnout. Strict security measures and transparency protocols, including CCTV, are in place.

Tripura is set for the crucial vote counting for its two Lok Sabha constituencies—Tripura West and Tripura East—along with the Ramnagar Assembly byelection, as confirmed by Chief Electoral Officer Puneet Agarwal on Monday.

The vote counting will take place across 20 locations on June 4, following elections held in April that saw notable voter turnout. Tripura West recorded 81.48% voting, while Tripura East tallied 80.36%.

To ensure transparency, CCTV cameras have been installed in all counting halls, and a three-tier security system has been enforced around the venues. Prohibitory orders are also in effect. Political parties have designated their counting agents, and 31 counting supervisors have been appointed by the Election Commission to oversee the process.
