Punjab's Vote Counting: A Transparent and Secure Affair

In Punjab, 64 observers from various services have been appointed to ensure transparent and efficient vote counting for the 13 Lok Sabha seats. The process will start at 8 am on Tuesday, with security measures like CCTV surveillance and a three-tier security system in place to ensure integrity.

In a robust effort to ensure transparency and efficiency, Punjab's Chief Electoral Officer, Sibin C, has appointed 64 observers to oversee the counting process for the 13 Lok Sabha seats. Counting will commence at 8 am on Tuesday.

Voter turnout in Punjab hit 62.80 per cent on the polling day. A network of 117 counting centers has been set up, housed in 48 buildings across 27 locations, including seven outside district headquarters.

Security provisions are paramount, with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) stored in double-locked strong rooms under 24-hour CCTV surveillance. Representatives of political parties and authorized personnel can monitor the security via LED screens displaying live footage. A three-tier security system has been implemented, ensuring full compliance with Election Commission guidelines.
