Xu Wei Assumes Role as New Chinese Consul General in Kolkata

Xu Wei has officially taken on his new role as Chinese Consul General in Kolkata, according to an official statement released. He succeeds Zha Liyou in the position.

Arriving in the city on June 1, Xu Wei was warmly greeted by officials from the Consulate General, as well as representatives of the Indian-Chinese community.

In a statement, Wei emphasized the Consulate General's commitment to promoting friendly exchanges and cooperation between China and India. His goal is to deepen mutual understanding and friendship between the two nations, thereby contributing to the steady advancement of China-India relations. Xu Wei is now the sixth individual to serve as Chinese Consul General in Kolkata.
