In Tamil Nadu, all arrangements are in place for the counting of votes on June 4 for the 39 Lok Sabha constituencies, officials confirmed on Monday. Counting centers across the state are set to commence the process at 8 am, starting with postal ballots before moving onto EVM votes by 8.30 am.

Nearly 40,000 personnel have been assigned to ensure a smooth and seamless counting operation. In the April 19 single-phase election, the state saw a voter turnout of 69.72 percent with 950 candidates contesting in the 39 Lok Sabha segments. Heightened security measures include about one lakh police personnel and 15 companies of Central Armed Police Forces deployed across the state.

The counting for North, Central, and South Chennai will take place at Queen Mary's College, Loyola College, and Anna University respectively. The Vilavancode bypoll in Kanyakumari will also be counted on the same day. Results for both the Lok Sabha seats and the lone assembly segment are expected by the evening. Exit polls suggest a significant win for the ruling DMK and its allies, while AIADMK and BJP are expected to compete strongly in specific constituencies.
