Supongmeren Jamir Takes Early Lead in Nagaland's Lone Lok Sabha Seat

Congress candidate S Supongmeren Jamir is leading by over 23,500 votes against Chumben Murry of the NDPP for Nagaland's lone Lok Sabha seat. Jamir has polled 2,02,415 votes, Murry 1,78,896, and Independent candidate Hayithung Tungoe Lotha 2,927 votes. Voting participation was at 57.72% of 13.25 lakh people.

In a significant development in Nagaland's Lok Sabha elections, Congress candidate S Supongmeren Jamir has secured a substantial lead over his nearest contender, Chumben Murry of the NDPP, as per the Election Commission.

Jamir has garnered 2,02,415 votes compared to Murry's 1,78,896 votes, while Independent candidate Hayithung Tungoe Lotha managed to receive only 2,927 votes.

Voter turnout was reported at 57.72%, with over half of the 13.25 lakh registered electors casting their ballots on April 19. The counting of votes is currently taking place across 17 designated counting centers.
