BJP Leads in Assam Lok Sabha Polls: An Intense Political Battle Unfolds
The ruling BJP, alongside its allies AGP and UPPL, is leading in 10 out of the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in Assam. The opposition Congress is ahead in four constituencies. Prominent figures from both parties are leading and trailing as counting progresses in 152 halls across the state.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), along with its allies Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and United Peoples' Party Liberal (UPPL), is spearheading the elections in Assam, leading in 10 out of the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies, as per the latest figures released on Tuesday by election officials.
Significantly, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Rajya Sabha MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa are among the BJP candidates making strong leads in Dibrugarh and Kaziranga respectively. Other notable BJP contenders like MLA Ranjit Dutta in Tezpur, and sitting MP Pradan Baruah in Lakhimpur, are also ahead of their rivals.
For the Congress, significant leads have been seen in Jorhat with Lok Sabha Deputy Leader of Opposition Gaurav Gogoi, and in Nagaon with sitting MP Prodyut Bordoloi. With the results continuing to unfold, all eyes are on the prominent candidates trailing, including AIUDF President Badruddin Ajmal and BJP's Jorhat sitting MP Topon Gogoi.
