Charanjit Singh Channi Clinches Jalandhar Victory

Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi secured a decisive victory in Jalandhar's reserve parliamentary constituency, defeating BJP's Sushil Rinku by a margin of 1,75,993 votes. Channi, the former Punjab CM, received 3.90 lakh votes. AAP's Pawan Kumar Tinu and SAD's Mohinder Singh Kaypee trailed behind.

In a significant political victory, Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi emerged triumphant from the Jalandhar reserve parliamentary constituency, garnering a substantial margin of 1,75,993 votes, as per the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Channi, who previously served as the Chief Minister of Punjab, decisively defeated BJP candidate Sushil Rinku. The vote count saw Channi securing 3.90 lakh votes, while Rinku managed to obtain 2.14 lakh votes.

The Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate, Pawan Kumar Tinu, held the third position with 2.08 lakh votes, and Shiromani Akali Dal's contender, Mohinder Singh Kaypee, received 67,911 votes. The counting of votes for all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab commenced at 8 am under stringent security measures.
