YSRCP chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday accused the TDP of fostering an atmosphere of fear in Andhra Pradesh even before the new government takes office. He has appealed to Governor S Abdul Nazeer for intervention to halt the attacks on his party workers.

Reddy, who faced defeat at the hands of the NDA coalition comprising TDP, BJP, and Janasena in the recent Assembly polls, alleged that TDP cadres have resorted to violence and are attacking YSR Congress workers. He noted that both private and government properties, including village secretariats and Rythu Bharosa Kendras, have been targeted.

Claiming that the peace maintained during YSRCP's five-year tenure has been disrupted, Reddy urged the Governor to act against the 'yellow gangs' (TDP supporters). He also assured that he would support all affected party activists.

The NDA secured a sweeping victory in Andhra Pradesh, winning 164 Assembly seats and 21 Lok Sabha constituencies, while Reddy's YSRCP managed only 11 Assembly seats and four Parliamentary seats.
