In a strategic move, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee convened a pivotal meeting on Saturday with senior TMC leaders and newly elected MPs. The focus was on shaping the party's strategy for the Lok Sabha. The meeting, which began around 4:30 PM, is still ongoing.
At the outset, Banerjee extended her congratulations to the victorious candidates, notably newcomers like Yusuf Pathan, Rachana Banerjee, Mitali Bag, and Jagadish Chandra Barma Basunia. This celebratory note set the tone for the session.
Under Banerjee's leadership, the TMC achieved a resounding victory, securing 29 of West Bengal's 42 Lok Sabha seats. The BJP was reduced to 12 seats, while the Congress managed only one. Rajya Sabha MPs and district presidents also participated in the meeting, where party strategy and leadership roles were discussed.
