The 18th Lok Sabha brings a wave of fresh faces to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), with 16 newly elected members. Out of these, 12 are newcomers, while two are turncoats from YSRCP, and two experienced MPs. This lineup has significantly elevated TDP's stature on the national stage.
Among the notable winners is G M Harish from Amalapuram, the son of a former Lok Sabha Speaker. After a previous defeat in 2019, Harish made a strong comeback with a massive win in 2024. Another first-time MP, Ambica G Lakshminaryana Valmiki from Anantapur, clinched victory with a significant margin.
TDP's influence is further augmented by experienced politicians and professionals transitioning from other careers, such as T Krishna Prasad, a former IPS officer, who won from Bapatla. Meanwhile, the lone female TDP MP, B Shabari, secured the Nandyala seat, continuing her family's political legacy.
