Kharge Attends Modi's Historic Third Oath-Taking Amidst Opposition Boycott

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge was the only opposition leader to attend Narendra Modi's third swearing-in ceremony as Prime Minister. Despite invitations, other opposition leaders, including those from the TMC, boycotted the event. The ceremony was held at Rashtrapati Bhavan with dignitaries and heads of state in attendance.

In a notable display of political dynamics, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge stood as the solitary opposition leader to witness Narendra Modi's historic swearing-in ceremony for his third tenure as Prime Minister on Sunday evening.

Although several opposition leaders were invited, Kharge was among the few who showed up at the significant event held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath during a ceremony graced by dignitaries and heads of neighboring states.

Various opposition leaders, including prominent TMC members, chose to skip the event. TMC leader Sagarika Ghosh openly shared her invitation letter on X, citing opposition to Modi’s moral legitimacy as the reason for her absence. Meanwhile, another TMC leader confirmed Mamata Banerjee's decision to boycott the ceremony.
