Senior BJP figures including Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S. Jaishankar, retained their cabinet roles. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of office to Modi and 30 Cabinet ministers, alongside five Ministers of State with Independent charge, and 36 Ministers of State, although their portfolios were yet to be announced.

Modi, dressed in a white kurta and churidar with a blue chequered jacket, took the oath in the name of God.
