The meeting took place on the sidelines of a BRICS gathering in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, highlighting the broader geopolitical and economic concerns of both nations.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan raised "economic issues that are important for Turkey" during a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday, a Turkish diplomatic source said.

The two ministers, who met on the sidelines of a BRICS meeting in the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod, also discussed developments in Gaza, the source said, without elaborating.
