The Bajrang Dal will stage nationwide protests on Wednesday in response to a recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, which tragically claimed nine lives, including that of a two-year-old child, according to a senior Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) functionary on Tuesday.

The Bajrang Dal, the youth wing of the VHP, which is affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)—the ideological backbone of the BJP—condemned the incident through VHP general secretary (organisation) Milind Parande. "It was a cowardly attack by Islamic terrorists backed by Pakistan," Parande stated.

In response, the youth wing has planned to burn effigies of Islamic terrorism nationwide on Wednesday and submit a memorandum to President Droupadi Murmu through district collectors, urging strict action against the attackers, Parande added.

The attack, which occurred on Sunday, involved terrorists opening fire on a bus carrying 53 pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Delhi to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. Nine people, including a two-year-old, were killed, and several others injured.

VHP leaders paid tribute to the victims and wished for a speedy recovery for the injured. Meanwhile, extensive efforts to track down the terrorists continue, with 11 teams of security personnel working on the ground and heightened security measures in place across Jammu and Rajouri districts.
