PM Modi to Attend G7 Summit Amid Ongoing Global Conflicts

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend the G7 summit in Italy. The summit will focus on global issues including the war in Ukraine and the Gaza conflict. Leaders from the U.S., France, Japan, and Canada will attend, along with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will journey to Italy on Thursday for the annual G7 advanced economies summit. According to Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra, Modi's attendance will build on the G20 summit outcomes under India's presidency last year.

Held at Borgo Egnazia in Italy’s Apulia region from June 13 to 15, discussions are expected to center on the Ukraine war and the Gaza conflict. World leaders including U.S. President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will participate. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled for a session addressing the Russian invasion.

India's consistent participation highlights its growing influence in addressing global challenges. Kwatra also mentioned that India would partake at an appropriate level in the peace summit in Switzerland, though details of representation were not disclosed.
