The UK Labour Party has proposed a strategic and long-term approach to managing relations with China if they win the upcoming national election in July. Their manifesto advocates for cooperation, competition, and challenging China where needed, alongside an audit to better understand bilateral relations.

Britain's opposition Labour Party said on Thursday that it would bring a long term and strategic approach to managing relations with China if it wins the national election in July.

"We will co-operate where we can, compete where we need to, and challenge where we must," the party said in its election manifesto, the document outlining its policy plans should it win power.

"We will improve the UK’s capability to understand and respond to the challenges and opportunities China poses through an audit of our bilateral relationship."
