Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat on Friday issued a stark warning about the potential 'bad consequences' if the cabinet expansion continues to be delayed in Maharashtra.

The Eknath Shinde-led government, which assumed office in June 2022 following the collapse of the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, has only witnessed two cabinet expansions— the first in 2022 and the second in July 2023, which included the induction of NCP's Ajit Pawar and eight other MLAs.

Shirsat, who is eyeing a cabinet position, emphasized the urgent need for Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to clarify their stance on the matter. 'Everyone wants to become a minister, but no one says it. You cannot keep it stretching for long. The time has come to make a concrete decision. If the cabinet expansion is further delayed, the consequences will be bad,' Shirsat stated.
