A brother of the former chief of staff to Imprisoned ex-Pakistan PM Imran Khan has been kidnapped in Lahore, Punjab’s capital, police announced on Thursday. The abduction of Ghulam Shabbir, elder brother of Shahbaz Gill of PTI, occurred after he left his residence in Khyiaban-e-Amin, aiming for Islamabad.

Shabbir's son, Bilal Abdullah, alleges intelligence agency involvement in his father’s disappearance. This event follows the recent abductions of two professors connected to Khan's social media advocate, Azhar Mashwani, under similar suspicions.

Shahbaz Gill, currently in the US, outspoken against Pakistan's military, is thought to be the target of these pressures. Imran Khan has criticized security forces for mistreating his supporters through his X account, citing systemic abuse by military intelligence in judicial matters and calling for judicial scrutiny to curb ISI's influence.
