TDP's C Ayyannapatrudu Becomes Unanimous Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly

TDP's Narsipatnam MLA, C Ayyannapatrudu, was unanimously elected as the Speaker of the 16th Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Despite only three nominations being filed—all in his favor—Ayyannapatrudu assumed his new role. The session also saw the swearing-in of three MLAs. Opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy won't attend as he's visiting Kadapa.

TDP’s Narsipatnam MLA, C Ayyannapatrudu, was elected unanimously as the Speaker of the 16th Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Saturday, marking a significant political event.

Ayyannapatrudu’s election was a formality since no other MLA submitted nominations to contest his candidacy. Legislative Assembly Secretary General PPK Ramacharyulu confirmed that the three nominations received were all in favor of Ayyannapatrudu.

The second day of the latest Legislative Assembly session began at 10:30 am with three MLAs finalizing their oath-taking process. This completes the swearing-in formalities for all 175 MLAs of the state. Notably, YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is set to visit Kadapa district, did not attend the session, as per a statement from the opposition party. The former Chief Minister will be in Pulivendula for the next three days.
