Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has raised serious allegations regarding the death of BJP worker Mamta Yadav, who was last seen in Uttar Pradesh (UP) on a mission to recover Rs 7 lakh in September 2023. According to Singh, Yadav's family has not received adequate support from the police.

Reports suggest that Mamta's family lodged a complaint in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, after she failed to return, and a body was subsequently found in UP, which the family identified as hers. However, the body was reportedly buried unverified.

Inspector Manish Jadon has confirmed ongoing efforts to get a response from UP police regarding the body's identification. Meanwhile, Singh has written to senior officials demanding a high-level probe into the incident, alleging wider political involvement. Mamta's family believes she was murdered and has been struggling to attain justice.
