Protests Over Water Crisis Mark MCD House Meeting

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) House meeting witnessed dramatic scenes on Thursday as BJP and Congress MLAs protested against the water crisis plaguing the national capital.

Proceedings began at 11:55 am, an hour late, prompting opposition councillors to storm the well of the House and chant slogans targeting Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's AAP government. BJP councillors, carrying earthen pots, shouted "Jai Shree Ram" and "Bharat Mata Ki Jai."

Amid the uproar, Mayor Shelly Oberoi moved forward with the meeting, passing several proposals before adjourning the session until the next gathering. The session marked the first House meeting following the Lok Sabha elections, and further delays were witnessed as the start was pushed from 11 am to 11:45 am without explanation.
