Shashi Tharoor's Oath Ceremony Sparks Interest in Lok Sabha

Lok Sabha adjourned after President's address and MP Tharoor's swearing-in. Tharoor took oath in English, holding the Constitution, and concluded with 'Jai Hind, Jai Samvidhan.' Five other MPs yet to take oath.

The Lok Sabha was adjourned following the President's address to the joint sitting and the laying down of several bills. In a notable moment before the adjournment, the newly-elected Congress MP Shashi Tharoor was sworn in as a member of the 18th Lok Sabha.

The Thiruvananthapuram MP took his oath in English, while reverently holding a copy of the Constitution. He ended his oath with a resonant 'Jai Hind, Jai Samvidhan.'

Five other Lok Sabha MPs, including two independents currently in jail, have yet to take their oaths of office.
