Revanth Reddy Requests New Leader for TPCC As Term Ends

Chief Minister and TPCC president A Revanth Reddy has informed the AICC to appoint a new state unit chief as his three-year term concludes. He led Congress successfully through Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Reddy requested senior leadership for a new PCC president to be appointed before his term ends.

Chief Minister and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president A Revanth Reddy has officially informed the AICC about his impending completion of three years in office and requested the appointment of a new leader to head the state unit.

Addressing the media in New Delhi, Reddy highlighted his successful guidance of the party through both Assembly and Lok Sabha elections during his tenure. Appointed as PCC president on June 27, 2021, Reddy's term is set to conclude on July 7 this year.

Reddy revealed that he had appealed to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and general secretary KC Venugopal to find a suitable successor before his term ends. He stated that he has asked to be relieved from his current responsibilities to pave the way for an eligible new leader. The party leadership will take an appropriate decision shortly.

Under his leadership, Congress secured 64 seats in the 119-member state assembly elections and won eight out of 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana in the recent general elections.
