Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, faced a significant setback on Monday as Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar expunged most of his remarks criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) during a heated parliamentary session.

Kharge, in his speech on the Motion of Thanks to the President's address, cited instances from Modi's election rallies, alleging divisive rhetoric aimed at minorities and Pakistan. However, the chairman demanded authentication of these claims, rejecting Kharge's use of newspaper clippings as evidence.

Despite support from party colleague P Chidambaram, Kharge's allegations were dismissed, with Dhankhar defending the RSS as a patriotic organization. The session saw multiple disruptions and objections from BJP leaders, emphasizing the contentious nature of the criticisms leveled against Modi and the RSS.
