In a significant development on Monday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla announced a new panel of chairpersons responsible for assisting in running the House proceedings. The newly named panel includes prominent members such as Jagdambika Pal, P C Mohan, Sandhya Rai, and others.
This panel of chairpersons has been constituted to preside over the House proceedings in the absence of the Speaker, thereby ensuring the smooth operation of the parliamentary sessions. These members will enjoy all the same powers vested in the Speaker, ensuring there is no disruption in the legislative process.
The 18th Lok Sabha was recently constituted following the conclusion of the latest parliamentary elections, ushering in a new phase for the Indian legislature.
