A significant development unfolded on Wednesday as a key Nepali Congress committee convened to address Nepal's evolving political landscape and outline the party's strategic future. This meeting follows closely on the heels of a power-sharing deal struck with the CPN-UML, paving the way for a new government.

In a late-night agreement on Monday, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN-UML Chairman K P Sharma Oli agreed to form a new coalition government, effectively ousting the ruling coalition led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'.

The much-anticipated meeting began at Deuba's residence in Budhanilkantha at 9 am, with discussions focusing on the latest political developments and the party's forthcoming course of action. Former Foreign Minister Narayan Prakash Saud confirmed that the agenda also included the formation of the new coalition government and its operational modality.
