U.S. President Joe Biden will continue his candidacy for the 2024 Presidential Election despite a poor debate performance against Republican challenger Donald Trump. The White House, through spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre, confirmed that Biden has no intention of stepping down from the race.

U.S. President Joe Biden is not considering stepping down as a presidential candidate, the White House said on Wednesday, after the Democratic incumbent had a dismal debate performance last week against Republican contender Donald Trump.

"Absolutely not," White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre said, when asked if Biden was considering stepping down from the race.
