Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, embarked on an early morning road trip from Delhi to Hathras on Friday. His agenda includes meeting with the families of victims who tragically lost their lives in a recent stampede, as confirmed by Congress officials.

''Rahul ji left for Hathras from Delhi at around 5.10 am,'' stated state Congress chief Ajay Rai in a conversation with PTI. Accompanying Gandhi were notable Congress members including state in-charge Avinash Pande and spokesperson Supriya Shrinate.

Gandhi's schedule features several condolence visits, initially at Pilakhna in Aligarh, followed by Green Park and Vibhav Nagar near Navipur Khurd in Hathras. Ajay Rai criticized the Uttar Pradesh government for what he termed as a failure leading to the tragedy, demanding substantial compensation for the affected families and a judicial probe by a current High Court judge.
