Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday criticized opposition leader Rahul Gandhi's comments on Hindus, emphasizing that had Hindus not been tolerant, it wouldn't have taken 500 years to construct the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Speaking at the Chhattisgarh BJP's executive meeting, Khattar accused the Congress party of spreading misinformation due to its fear of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that when Congress failed to convince voters with lies during the Lok Sabha elections, they turned to defaming Lord Ram and Hindus.

Khattar highlighted that Hindus are among the most tolerant people globally, contradicting Rahul Gandhi's claim that Hindus are violent. He pointed to the peaceful abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and the cessation of caste and communal riots as evidence of BJP's effective governance.

Accusing Congress of misleading the public and falsely labeling the newly-elected NDA government as a minority, Khattar cited the NDA's successes in recent assembly elections across four states and the absence of Congress MPs in 13 states as proof of Congress' decline.

Khattar also criticized Congress for failing to deliver on promises such as a liquor ban and farm loan waivers in Chhattisgarh. He urged BJP leaders to inform the public about the benefits of BJP's public welfare schemes and contribute to the Prime Minister's vision of a developed India by 2047.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, regional general secretary (organisation) Ajay Jamwal, state BJP Chief Kiran Deo, and other senior party leaders attended the meeting.
