Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramiah has vehemently denied allegations of a scam involving the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), following fervent protests by the state's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He stressed that the land allotments under scrutiny were carried out during the BJP's governance in 2021, dispelling any claims of wrongdoing.

Speaking to reporters in Mysore, Siddaramiah accused the BJP of engaging in political theatrics. 'The BJP is protesting politically. Do they only want to do politics over everything? We too know how to resist politically,' he asserted, maintaining there was no scam involved.

'Our case is not a scam. The MUDA allocated lands to those who lost their properties, a process undertaken by the BJP government in a 50:50 ratio. Did we orchestrate this?' Siddaramiah questioned, adding that the land allotment followed legal processes.

The Chief Minister defended the legitimacy of the land grants. 'We contend that the grant of replacement premises is legal. If they believe otherwise, they should produce the documents,' he challenged.

A complaint lodged by social activist Snehamayi Krishna at Vijayanagar Police Station in Mysore accuses Siddaramiah, his family, and several officials of forging documents to claim compensation from MUDA. The complaint also implicates the deputy commissioner, tehsildar, deputy registrar, and MUDA officials.

Krishna alleges that MUDA created fake documents to obtain high-value plots fraudulently. The grievance has been escalated to the governor, state chief secretary, and the principal secretary of the revenue department.
