Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday accused political rivals of targeting him unfairly in connection with alleged fraudulent land allotments by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). The controversy involves plots allocated to his wife, Parvathi.

Siddaramaiah asserted that the accusations are politically motivated, stemming from his reappointment as Chief Minister and his background in the backward class community. He noted that despite these allegations, he remains unfazed and committed to his duties.

The Chief Minister was responding to BJP state president B Y Vijayendra's announcement of a mega protest in Mysuru on July 12. Siddaramaiah countered, stating that the BJP's actions are politically driven and that his administration will respond politically if needed.

He emphasized that the allegations are baseless and that the land allotments were legal. Siddaramaiah also highlighted that the MUDA had allotted these plots in accordance with compensatory schemes during BJP's governance.
