Veteran Congress leader Karan Singh has raised concerns over the recent surge in terror attacks in the Jammu region. Addressing the government, Singh urged the relocation of the Jammu Division back under the Nagrota Corps from the Western Command in Chandigarh to ensure better area control.
In his statement, Singh, who previously served as the governor of Jammu and Kashmir, highlighted the growing terrorism threat in the region. 'I trust civilian and military officials are working to apprehend the militants swiftly. My condolences to the bereaved families and prayers for the recovery of the wounded,' Singh said.
Singh suggested to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh the restoration of the Nagrota Corps' jurisdiction over Jammu Division, citing the proximity of Nagrota, which is just thirty miles from Jammu, as opposed to the Western Command in Chandigarh, located over 200 miles away. He emphasized that this move would enhance surveillance and troop efficiency in combating militanactivities.
