The BJP on Thursday asserted that the entire nation eagerly awaits Arvind Kejriwal's resignation on ethical grounds, citing his alleged involvement in the Delhi excise policy scam. This comes after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) accused him of utilizing part of Rs 100 crore 'kickbacks' for personal luxury, notably a stay at a luxury hotel in Goa, according to its recent charge sheet.
Addressing a press conference, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari leveled serious corruption allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), alleging that Kejriwal, featured as 'Accused No. 37' in the ED's documents, has not adhered to his usual stance of resigning amid accusations. This raises significant doubts about the party's integrity and future, according to Tiwari.
In response, AAP National General Secretary Sandeep Pathak defended Kejriwal, claiming the ED lacks evidence and the accusations are politically motivated to keep him incarcerated. He cited a Special Court's ruling that criticized the agency for failing to establish a clear money trail in their ongoing investigations.
