Kerala Legislative Assembly Concludes 11th Session with Major Resolutions

The 11th session of the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly, which began on June 10, concluded after 19 days. Key legislation including several amendment bills were passed, and discussions led to a unanimous resolution to rename the state to 'Keralam'. The assembly also addressed issues regarding NEET exam irregularities.

The 11th session of the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly, which commenced on June 10, wrapped up on Thursday.

Speaker A N Shamseer announced the conclusion of the 19-day session after Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan presented a resolution in this regard.

The assembly, initially planned to meet for 28 days, shortened it to 19 based on the advisory committee's recommendation. Speaker Shamseer announced this change while declaring the end of the session.

During this period, key legislation such as the Kerala Municipality (Second Amendment) Bill, Kerala Panchayat Raj (Second Amendment) Bill, Kerala Tax Collection (Amendment) Bill, and Kerala Finance Bill were passed.

Shamseer thanked the Congress-led UDF opposition for agreeing to waive the raising of adjournment notices on Fridays, allowing more time for non-official business.

A notable resolution to rename the state to 'Keralam' was unanimously passed. The assembly also condemned the NEET exam irregularities, passing a resolution urging the Centre to address the issue promptly.
