Maharashtra minister Chhagan Bhujbal met NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar at his Mumbai residence on Monday to seek intervention in the contentious Maratha quota issue.
Bhujbal, an OBC leader, briefed reporters about his lengthy discussion with Pawar, during which the latter promised to engage with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and other leaders within two days.
Bhujbal requested Pawar's mediation due to escalating tensions between Marathas and OBCs in the state, emphasizing Pawar's past role in resolving OBC issues when he was Chief Minister.
