K P Sharma Oli was sworn in as Nepal's 45th Prime Minister on Monday, marking his fourth time in office. The leader of Nepal's largest communist party was appointed to head a coalition government by President Ram Chandra Paudel on Sunday.

Oli succeeds Prachanda, who lost a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives last Friday. The swearing-in ceremony, held at Shital Niwas, faced delays due to internal disputes within the Nepali Congress regarding ministerial appointments.

However, the new government is already mired in controversy. Within hours of Oli's appointment, a writ petition challenging its constitutionality was filed in the Supreme Court of Nepal. The court has set July 21 for a preliminary hearing.
