Union Minister Giriraj Singh has strongly criticized AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, blaming him for inciting tensions by ending his Lok Sabha oath with the 'Jai Palestine' slogan. Singh alleged this act led to the waving of the Palestine flag during Muharram in Bihar's Nawada and lambasted Congress and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav for their silence on the incident.
In a conversation with ANI, Singh remarked, 'If an experienced MP like Owaisi says 'Jai Palestine' in the Parliament, it will naturally lead to an increase in such behaviors across the country.' Three individuals have reportedly been arrested for waving the Palestinian flag during a Muharram procession in Bihar's Nawada, following a video that went viral on social media.
The BJP leader praised the Bihar government for taking stringent actions against those waving the Palestine flag but questioned Congress and Lalu Prasad Yadav's silence. 'Why are Congress and Lalu Prasad Yadav not speaking up? They've secured votes from minority Muslims, leading to this chaos,' he added. Singh also criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, tying his defense of Muslims to national division and accusing him of double standards regarding communal issues.
Singh recalled instances of stone-pelting during Ram Navami processions, suggesting that such incidents would increase if MPs like Owaisi continue making provocative statements. He emphasized the need for strict action against Owaisi.
Addressing recent unrest in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, Singh detailed the violent clashes over the removal of encroachments on a mausoleum. He condemned the construction of mausoleums, labeling it as 'land jihad,' and criticized the support for these actions by what he called the 'tukde-tukde gang.'
Singh also touched upon the historical Emergency imposed by Congress, describing it as a black spot in India's history. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for alleviating poverty and condemned Congress's failure to do so. 'Modi lives for the poor,' Singh asserted, highlighting Modi's personal experiences with poverty.
