Rajasthan's Visionary Budget Faces Opposition Criticism

Rajasthan Finance Minister Diya Kumari defended the 2024-25 revised budget, asserting it as a visionary plan for developed Rajasthan. Opposition leader Tikaram Jully criticized the budget as dull and directionless. Kumari emphasized the government's commitment to fulfilling its promises and implementing public welfare schemes under Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.

Rajasthan Finance Minister Diya Kumari on Tuesday assured the Assembly that the 'double engine' government will honor its budgetary announcements and promises.

Describing the revised 2024-25 budget as visionary for a developed Rajasthan, Kumari responded to criticisms from the opposition.

Opposition leader Tikaram Jully labeled the budget as 'dull and directionless,' claiming the House had never seen such a disappointing plan.

While addressing questions on budget implementation, Kumari insisted, 'We will provide financial resources, there is a double engine government in Rajasthan. We will not only make full efforts, but we will also show results.' She vowed to fulfill all promises and projects initiated by the government.

Kumari also criticized the previous Congress government for 'emptying the treasury,' but assured that the current administration is working on effective financial management and public welfare schemes under Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.

'We have been working wholeheartedly for the state's development since December 12, 2023, the first day of our government. Our aim is to leave no stone unturned in advancing the state,' she added.

During the budget debate, Jully accused the government of placing the poor and good governance low in their ten resolutions. Kumari announced new initiatives, such as connecting over one thousand villages with asphalt roads and investing Rs 2,000 crore in road construction over two years.
