Amid rising speculation about internal dissent in the Uttar Pradesh BJP, Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav posted a cryptic message on X, encouraging ruling party MLAs to shift allegiances and help form a new state government.
In his post, Yadav stated, ''Monsoon offer: Bring hundred, form government.'' Though he did not name anyone directly, a senior SP leader revealed on condition of anonymity that the message was directed at dissatisfied BJP MLAs unhappy with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's leadership.
Yadav's post comes amid reports of a potential rift in the BJP, spurred by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya's recent assertion that the party is more significant than the government. Maurya had a confidential meeting with BJP president J P Nadda in Delhi earlier this week, heightening the speculations.
Insiders suggest enduring tension between Maurya and Adityanath, with some state BJP leaders attributing their electoral losses to the chief minister's style of governance. As the political intrigue unfolds, all eyes are on the possible realignments within Uttar Pradesh's political landscape.
