Shiv Sena's Raut: 'Common Man is Superman'

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut responded to RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat's statement, emphasizing that the common man is the true 'superman' of India. Raut criticized the BJP government and discussed the recent train derailment, highlighting infrastructure issues. He also touched on seat-sharing arrangements within Maha Vikas Aghadi.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut responded to a recent remark by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, asserting that the average citizen is the 'superman' of the nation. Bhagwat had initially touched upon the ambition of becoming Superman and even God during a meeting, a statement that has since sparked political controversy.

Commenting on the matter, Raut said, "Mohan Bhagwat is a respected leader. Since the election outcome, with the BJP's minority government in power, Bhagwat has been outspoken. The concept of this 'Superman' or 'incarnation of Vishnu' is known to all. Bhagwat should speak frankly. The current state of governance under a minority administration is concerning for democracy and the constitution. In India, the common man is the superman, keeping those who see themselves as divine away from power."

Raut also addressed the recent derailment of the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda region. "This government itself is off track. Since the new railway minister took office, over 300 passengers have died. Grand plans for bullet and superfast trains overlook basic signal repairs essential for safe travel," he stated.

On Maha Vikas Aghadi's seat-sharing talks, Raut remarked, "All parties are assessing their positions. Mumbai has always been Shiv Sena's stronghold. Whether it's the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Assembly, or Lok Sabha, we have a strong presence. Congress and NCP also have influential areas. Seats will be allotted accordingly."
