Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), announced on Friday that the party would organize a peaceful protest in New Delhi on July 24. The aim is to shed light on the 'lawlessness and anarchy' that has beset Andhra Pradesh since N Chandrababu Naidu of the TDP became Chief Minister.

Reddy revealed that he has sought appointments with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu, and Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss what he described as a deteriorating law-and-order situation in the state, allegedly caused by the TDP-led government.

According to Reddy, the period since Naidu took office has been marked by 36 political murders and 300 murder attempts. He also claimed that 37 individuals have taken their own lives due to harassment by TDP, and called for President's rule in the state. He accused the police of failing to act against the perpetrators and instead, targeting the victims.

Furthermore, Reddy visited the family of murdered party activist Sheik Rashid, who was killed on Wednesday night. Reddy accused the police of falsely claiming Rashid's murder was for personal reasons rather than political motives. He also criticized the TDP government for allocating him an old, malfunctioning bulletproof vehicle and significantly downsizing his security during his visit to Vinukonda.
