Chirag Paswan Calls for Vision to Propel Bihar's Development Amidst Challenges

Union minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan has called on the Bihar government to adopt stringent measures against crime and address the recent bridge collapses, asserting that the state requires a clear vision for development. Paswan, once a critic of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar before their alliance with the BJP, affirmed that the NDA will contest the next assembly elections under Kumar's leadership, raising several issues that he believes hinder the state's progress.

As the 2025 assembly elections approach, Paswan posed a critical question: 'If Biharis are doing so well, then why is Bihar so behind?' He emphasized the need for a robust vision and its implementation to curb migration, noting Bihari success in various fields post-migration. Ahead of the Union budget presentation, he supported the call for special category status for Bihar or an alternative special package, despite NITI Aayog's opposing recommendations.

Paswan addressed the recent collapse of nearly 15 bridges in Bihar, pointing to potential corruption and quality compromises in development work. He stressed the importance of accountability and punitive measures to prevent future issues. Reflecting on his alliance with Kumar, Paswan underscored his commitment to the coalition. He acknowledged Kumar's governance improvements over previous administrations and highlighted the need to boost tourism through safety measures and developing religious sites. Additionally, he lamented Bihar's lack of educational infrastructure and called for a replication of successful coaching models from other states. Paswan also urged for inter-linking rivers to mitigate the state's dual issues of drought and flooding.
