Following a fatal encounter with terrorists in Doda that claimed the lives of four soldiers, Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh revealed strategic plans aimed at countering terrorism. While specifics remain confidential, Singh disclosed that village defence guards would be revived and equipped with more modern weapons.
Singh highlighted the recent surge in violent incidents in Doda, drawing a parallel to the peak of 90s terrorism. He noted that unlike past forced migrations, Doda’s communal harmony has prevented such outcomes. Singh accused a neighboring country of instigating these disturbances and reiterated that peace in the region would be under the stewardship of the Modi government. “Modi ji showed it by removing Article 370. If peace and a surge in tourism are witnessed today in Kashmir, it’s due to his leadership,” Singh asserted.
Amid reports of 50-55 Pakistani terrorists infiltrating the Jammu region, the Indian Army is realigning deployments based on intelligence inputs. Approximately 500 Para Special Forces commandos have been stationed to eliminate the terrorist threat. Intelligence agencies are enhancing their operations to dismantle terrorist support networks, including over-ground workers. To counteract Pakistan's proxy aggression, the Army has mobilized additional troops, including a brigade of around 3,500-4,000 personnel.
