AIADMK leader D Jayakumar criticized DMK Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin amid rumors that he might be appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, arguing that Udhayanidhi's only qualification is being the son of CM MK Stalin. Jayakumar labeled the move as 'dynasty politics' and questioned why senior party members were overlooked.
In response to the speculations, Udhayanidhi Stalin downplayed the reports. 'There is a resolution passed today to take charge to help our CM and party president. Some of you initiated this resolution to make sure we do it in advance and get a good name,' he said humorously.
Addressing the potential elevation, Udhayanidhi reiterated his commitment to his current role, stating, 'All ministers in our Government are Deputy Chief Ministers.' Looking ahead to the 2026 elections, he expressed confidence in the party's success and urged youth wing cadres to be more active on social media.
