Kamala Harris Set to Lead Historic Democratic Ticket Against Trump

US Vice President Kamala Harris has received President Joe Biden's endorsement to become the Democratic presidential nominee. Harris aims to unite the nation and defeat Republican rival Donald Trump. Despite the backing, the Democratic Party's selection process is still uncertain. Harris would be the first Black and Asian American woman to lead a major party's ticket.

US Vice President Kamala Harris, designated by Joe Biden to be the new Democratic presidential nominee, has announced her intention to ''earn and win'' the nomination. Harris is committed to uniting the nation and defeating her Republican opponent Donald Trump this November.

Receiving Biden's support, Harris stands poised to make history as the first Black woman and first Asian American to head a major American political party's ticket. However, the party's nomination process remains unclear. The Democratic National Committee Chairman, Jaime Harrison, has promised a transparent and orderly nomination process to defeat Trump.

While Biden's endorsement significantly boosts Harris's candidacy, especially with former President Bill Clinton's immediate support, she still needs to secure the delegates' vote at the upcoming Democratic National Convention. Former leaders such as Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi have yet to endorse Harris, leading the party into uncertain territory. Biden decided to abstain from the race due to his health and focuses all his energies on his presidential duties.
