A Shiv Sena leader has lodged a formal complaint with Mumbai Police, demanding an immediate halt to the telecast of the OTT show 'Bigg Boss 3.' The complaint alleges that the actors on the show have engaged in 'lewd and offensive behaviour,' raising alarms about its impact on social values and family relationships.
Dr. Manisha Kayande, Secretary and Spokesperson of Shiv Sena, along with other members, met Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar on Monday to submit a written complaint over the content aired in the 'Bigg Boss Season 3' episode on July 18, 2024. According to a press release, Dr. Kayande emphasized that the episode featured actors engaged in behavior that tramples on social values and crosses the boundaries of family relationships.
The Shiv Sena leader has urged authorities to immediately cease the show and take strict action against its producers and the CEO of the broadcasting company. The complaint also seeks an investigation into whether the contentious episode has gone viral on social media platforms, urging appropriate legal actions against those involved.
'Bigg Boss 3 is a reality show. The shooting is ongoing. It's an absolute vulgarity that is being depicted. The YouTube influencer is also participating, and now he has crossed all limits of vulgarity. For the scenes being shown, we have requested Mumbai Police to take action, and we have given them a letter,' Dr. Kayande stated, speaking to ANI. 'This public display of vulgarity, in the name of reality shows, how far is it correct? How does it influence young minds? We will also approach the Information and Broadcasting Minister at the center to request the implementation of a law governing OTT platforms in this session of parliament,' she added.
