Telangana Budget Session Set to Commence Amid Union Budget Presentation

The Telangana Legislature will begin its budget session today. Governor CP Radhakrishnan has convened the session, with the state budget scheduled for July 25. Simultaneously, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the union budget. Telangana Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka will present the state's budget.

The Telangana Legislature is set to kick off its annual budget session today, initiated by Governor CP Radhakrishnan. The significant event will culminate on July 25 with the presentation of the state's budget.

Remarkably, this session coincides with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's presentation of the NDA Government's first full budget in its third term, also slated for today. Chief Financial Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao confirmed the timeline for Telangana's budget presentation on Thursday.

In preparation for the session, Telangana Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari conducted a meeting with senior officials last Saturday. The comprehensive state budget for the current fiscal year will be presented by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on July 25.

Responding to queries about the union budget, Bharat Rashtra Samithi's working president K T Rama Rao expressed skepticism on social media platform X. He indicated low expectations for Telangana, remarking, "A journalist asked me about my expectations from the Union Budget. I told him we will get the same thing for the last 10 years – a Big Zero."

Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over a Union Cabinet meeting in Parliament to approve the Union Budget, ahead of its presentation by Finance Minister Sitharaman. PM Modi attended the meeting in Parliament this morning.

On Monday, PM Modi noted that the Economic Survey underscored the economy's strengths and outlined avenues for further development, aligning with the goal of building a 'Viksit Bharat.'
