Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has accused the Centre of manipulating central agencies to destabilize the Congress government. He alleges these actions aim to implicate him in the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation scam.
During a protest near the Mahatma Gandhi statue at Vidhana Soudha, Siddaramaiah claimed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) pressured B Kallesh, Additional Director of the Social Welfare Department, to wrongly link him to the Rs 187 crore scam.
He insisted neither he nor the finance department were involved in the scam and decried the investigation as politically motivated. The protest followed a police case against two ED officers, accused of coercing Kallesh to implicate the chief minister.
