Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has declared that his government will boycott the NITI Aayog meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 27. Siddaramaiah cited the continued neglect of the state's demands in the Union Budget as the reason for this protest.
'Despite my earnest efforts in organizing an all-party MPs meeting in New Delhi to discuss Karnataka's essential needs, the Union Budget has neglected our state's demands,' Siddaramaiah stated. He added that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who attended the meeting, ignored concerns specific to Karnataka.
Siddaramaiah criticized the Union government for not addressing key projects like Mekedatu and Mahadayi, as well as for reducing funds for metro and other infrastructure projects. He also accused Prime Minister Modi of focusing on states like Andhra Pradesh and Bihar while neglecting Karnataka.
